Joan Crary is an assistant research scientist with the Research Seminar in Quantitative Economics, Department of Economics at the University of Michigan. Since coming to the University in 1978, she has co-authored RSQE’s forecasts of both the U.S. and Michigan economies and has contributed to the development of the national and state econometric models.
Prior to coming to Michigan she spent a year as a Junior Staff Economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisors in Washington, D.C. She has also been a regular participant in the state’s Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference since its inception in 1992.
Joan received a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. She did her graduate work in Economics at Rice University.
In her spare moments, Joan enjoys cross-stitch and gardening.
